DLG Process and product certificate for pet food

DLG TestService GmbH developed a quality standard for pet food which evaluates the entire manufacturing process as well as the quality of the finished product.
The accompanying certification model guarantees good manufacturing and product quality. Consumers recognize this due to the new label with the quality grade                                        “SEHR GUT” / “EXCELLENT”.

On the internet, consumers can obtain information about the quality requirements of the DLG Produkt-Zertifikat and award-winning products at During the pilot phase of the new DLG Product-Certificate for pet food, the company Josera was the first manufacturer of pet food to be certified according to the new quality standard DLG Process-Pet Food.
Since March 2013, Josera has been offering products with the DLG Product-Certificate.

DLG Product-Certificate for Pet Food

The certifying system is a two-step process: in the course of process certification, experts of DLG TestService GmbH audit the company according to a comprehensive catalogue of provisions, the DLG Process-Pet Food. After a successful audit, the manufacturer may register products for examination with DLG TestService GmbH. These are analyzed and have to undergo sensory evaluation by way of a number of acceptability tests regarding taste. If the product passes the tests, it may be granted the
